The latest project of Pendulum is now rocking hard, Rob Swire and fellow member Gareth McGrillen are throwing down real dope electro/dub/Moombahton. Knife Party made a remix of Save The World by Swedish House Mafia which caught the eye of Radio 1 on Zane Lowe’s show. Their first release will feature a Moombahton collaboration with dubstep producer Skrillex called “Zoology”. I am sure we can agree they won’t disappoint. Enough said lets get too business…. I caught these electro-broficionados from Melbourne Trust Us around the traps at a few nights like So Electric night, and from what I’ve heard they combine synths from the 80s, bass from Ed Banger and some of the drumming urgency from pop punk, in an aesthetic similar to Aussie heroes The Presets, or their Melbourne sound compatriots City Calm Down but with a tone that’s totes their own. They are working on a new EP, and have given us a sampler to taste. We here at PTP are soon to do a meet and greet with the band, check them out in a practice session and ask some questions so stayed tuned for that!!

Eric Prydz presents brand new video for his latest single “Niton” featuring Jan Burton’s vocal. Sample that “Niton” is based on probably will remind you “Pjanoo” but it has some massive dance layers and brilliant vocal line with lovely dramatical keys that makes it sound like even more promising track than “Pjanoo”. Video for “Niton” is pleasant animation that is in global scales not the newest thing but as it wasn’t used a lot last years it feels like something fresh.

I must say I have been a massive fan of this track before Mr Prydz added some vocals to it and renamed it Niton (The Reason). It will be released on Ministry Of Sound Recordings on 6th February 2011 and features some huge remixes for everyone from the likes of Treasure Fingers, Boy 8-Bit , Sigma and Prydz himself under his alias Pryda. I have been able to get my hands on a promo through the power of ze interwebs so download have a listen and enjoy!

Post-pop-punk-emo-screamo-extremo-something-core band From First To Last were ok as far as the couple of songs I heard when my friend from uni who was into post-pop-punk-emo-screamo-extremo-something-core gave me a cd of hers to listen to and i skimmed through it.

Anyways Sonny Moore, who was the lead singer and guitarist for a period is now producing dubstep and electro stuff

I must admit I am a little jealous that the Gold Coast gets the addition of Trentmoller, A-Trak and The Rapture. The last two are playing at Falls Festival from memory.  Maybe one of the other writers will post something about that festival… Of course you’re probably all aware that Armin Van Buuran is doing an epic 9 hour set here in Melbourne on NYE so that explains his absence at Melbourne’s Summadayze also.
