One song, two remixes and two music videos. A whole lot of love in my books. I’m talking about Hooray For Earth‘s ‘True Loves’.

Let’s start off firstly with the song, in remix form courtesy of an artist by the name of Rx…

I first came across this track in the amazing Luvstep 2 mix compilation by Dirty Joe South and Flufftronix. Grab it HERE and treat your ears or your closest babe to some aural loving… By the way, Rx’s work also appears in the first Luvstep compilation also. Much love there also…

So now we move onto the next remix which I stumbled upon while trawling the net:


Holy shitballs. Turns out Cyriak Harris isn’t a stranger when it comes to bizarre videos. See HERE and this one HERE that is doing the rounds at the moment… Oh and the Cereal Spiller remix, while good, cuts no mustard to the Rx remix. My thoughts, whatevs…

And finally we have the original track that spawned these remixes and videos:

Wow, just wow… It seems that a track that sound so layered and ethereal deserved a music video clip equally as beautiful and surreal. Video is directed by Alex Takacs and Joe Nankin. The ‘True Loves’ EP is available to purchase off iTunes at the moment and has a stack of remixes attached to it also. The album of the same name comes out June 7th.

I haven’t had the best weeks of late so what do I do? Take the cliché road of listening to beautifully depressing songs on repeat because getting out of a rut isn’t exactly high on the priority list… Don’t worry folks, I’ll be fine in due time…

It’s bizarre, beautiful at the same time and warms up slightly what is a very sad, sombre track (love it to bits) off The National‘s amazing album High Violet. Probably not what I was expecting the video was going to be. I’d always envisioned the video to this track receiving a black and white treatment with it being set in the 1940s or 50s…

Anyway, the video is directed by Scott Jacobson and stars a few familiar faces in Kristen Schaal (Bob’s Burgers, Flight Of The Conchords), John Slattery (Mad Men) and cameos of the guys from the band.

Foster The People – Helena Beat (320)

Like their first single ‘Pumped Up Kicks’, I’ve been absolutely floggin’ the shit out of this track. It’s just so god damn catchy! Foster The People are creating alt-synth-pop gold in my books. Now when are the official music videos gonna be released?

The good news is that the guys are coming out here in February (looks like an East Coast tour, click HERE to see the other dates/locales.
