Worse than St Jerome’s? God truly doesn’t exist…

Crap festival = trainwreck... I rule at visual analogies!

Recently Hall-E bought to my attention the debacle that was the Live At The Zoo festival over in Adelaide. Word on the street was it was pretty bad, even worse than our experience at St Jerome’s earlier this year! Now that’s a big call. Now I dunno where he got the quote from but here’s the excerpt from his email:

“The inaugural Live At The Zoo three-day camping festival in a zoo at picturesque Montaro, South Australia, was dubbed a disaster. Reporters from the Adelaide “Advertiser” pointed out a number of issues —major acts like Cut Copy and Bliss’N'Eso either not playing or delaying their sets because conditions seemed unsafe, audience members complaining that the site was too dusty and the toilets filthy, the music being halted when impatient crowds pushed over security barriers injuring nine, a bad batch of E saw eight being treated for suspected overdoses, and festival workers threw up their hands and walked off the site.

The problems started before the festival began. One stage was cancelled with the axed acts told by email that the budget had gone over. The car park was locked for an hour after a dispute over the liquor license while with passengers in 300 cars waiting angrily, audience members got backstage looking for water and stole equipment. The event drew 4,000 attendees.

Festival managing director Peter Rowe told the ABC that police were present and there were more than 50 security guards. “It hasn’t been dogged with problems,” he said “I think it’s easy to pick up on little things and make an issue. Overall the people here are enjoying it.”"

I’ll fix/link the original article as soon as I can find it.

    • Hey there! How you doin'? Not much to say really apart from that we're a couple of Melbourne kids that take pictures and write about stuff we like. That’s pretty much it…
